About Mark.

I have more than two decades of business and technical projects background, which lends a much-needed perspective to Missions Council. Throughout my first term as councillor, I have a proven record of being open-minded, reasoned, and collaborative with stakeholders to make the best decisions for Mission residents. All issues before me are thoroughly researched – reaching out to the people/groups directly involved and always with the intent of establishing the very best outcome at the council table.

I have had the honour and privilege for the past four years of working alongside council, the community, staff, and administration. I am proud how the community pulled together during the pandemic not only to support each other but to keep Mission moving forward as a city. I plan to continue the work that has begun and drive Mission toward the future, while honouring its history. Council finished key planning projects this term including Silverdale & Mission Waterfront – it is important that we now move to implementation on those plans, with sound infrastructure & financial planning.

Some key points for me going into the next term are:

  • Focus on the increasing needs on our Protective Services
  • Additional Traffic Safety & Transit Improvements
  • Manage Growth in conjunction with Mission’s existing small-town feel
  • Park & Facility Upgrades & New Services
  • Enhancing Arts & Culture leadership
  • Health Care & Ancillary Services Advocacy

I welcome all feedback from the residents of Mission and encourages residents to reach out directly to me with their issues & concerns. Valuable insights into an issue start with a conversation, and I can be reached directly at

I live in Central Mission, with my wife Luwanda, two sons, two spoiled Vizsla’s (Cash & Penny), and three incredibly spoiled cats (Mickey, Tinkerbell, and Daisy). Mission is easily the best city in the Fraser Valley, and we are very proud to call it home. I am a newly minted 3-year Melanoma cancer survivor, and an avid advocate for sun safety.

I respectfully acknowledges that I live and work on the unceded territory of the Sto:Lo people, including the Nations of Leq’á:mel, Semá:th, Kwantlen, Sq’éwlets, Mathexwi, and Katzie traditional territories, and appreciates their continuing stewardship of these lands.
